Secure Freedom Minute: Paging Scoop Jackson

This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute.

As a young man, I had the privilege of working for five years for a great Democratic Senator named Henry “Scoop” Jackson. He would not recognize his party today, and probably would not be willing to be associated with its agenda.

Take, for example, the Democrats’ studied silence – at best –towards the threatening behavior of pro-abortion activists towards conservative Supreme Court justices, including making public the location of their homes and unlawfully demonstrating outside them. We learned yesterday of the predictable upshot of that criminal activity: Associate Justice Brett Kavanaugh was the object of an assassination attempt.

Scoop Jackson would surely lead the way in decrying such behavior, as he did any threat to our national and homeland security. The failure of his counterparts in today’s Senate to do the same implicates them in those threats and disqualifies them from leadership positions.
