Secure Freedom Minute: Donald Trump’s Fight with Big Tech is America’s Fight

Yesterday, Donald Trump reasserted the sort of robust national leadership that was the hallmark of his presidency and that has been sorely lacking of late. He is the lead class representative in a massive class-action lawsuit against Big Tech for suppressing his free speech and that of untold others.

The suit exposes an obvious, but infrequently recognized, fact: Social media platforms like Facebook, Google and Twitter have become abusively powerful conglomerates thanks to their cozy relationship with government. Specifically, they benefit hugely from protection against litigation provided by Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act.

Mr. Trump’s suit is also expected to demonstrate that the government has conspired with Big Tech to do something it cannot do, thanks to the First Amendment – namely, silence unwelcome critics, even the President of the United States.
