CPDC Webinar: “Is Xi Ready for a ‘Civil War’
with Taiwan—and Will He Bring It Here?”
Webinar to Examine Evidence of an
Impending Shooting War, Over There and in America
WASHINGTON, DC—Rumor is circulating that Chinese Communist emperor Xi Jinping has told his subordinates he is now ready for a “civil war” with Taiwan. The question is not so much whether he did or did not make such a statement, as whether one along those lines correctly reflects his current calculations, as well as his nation’s readiness to engage in such aggression. And, if so, whether it would be confined to a conflict with Taiwan or include the instigation of sabotage, assassinations and other disruptive acts – perhaps provoking a civil war – in this country, as well.
The next Committee on the Present Danger: China (CPDC) webinar, “Is Xi Ready for a ‘Civil War’ with Taiwan—and Will He Bring It Here?” from 12:00 to 1:15 p.m. ET today, Thursday, August 1, will draw upon an all-star cast of subject matter experts to assess the available evidence on these counts and our national readiness to deter Xi and, failing that, contend with whatever he may have in the offing.
