Secure Freedom Minute: Hegseth’s Honing Fire

This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute.

Since Pete Hegseth was nominated by President-elect Donald Trump to become the next Secretary of Defense, he has been the subject of sustained personal attacks and reports that his
prospects for confirmation are uncertain.

My bet is that this honing fire will not only result in his approval by the Senate, but will make him one of our most formidable Pentagon chiefs.

My friend Pete’s critics clearly seek to prevent the kind of restoration of the U.S. military Mr. Trump promised the American people – and got their mandate to accomplish. He believes that this decorated combat veteran is the man to do it – and so do I and a growing number of other national security professionals.

Pete Hegseth’s experiences in uniform, his longtime advocacy for veterans, his faith journey and his highly developed communications skills will serve him – and America – very well.
